Gary Boshears

Place 1, Secretary

Current Term: May 2022-2025

Gary Boshears was first elected to the Marble Falls Independent School District (MFISD) Board of Trustees, Place 1, in May 2016 and has since been re-elected in 2019 and 2022. Gary has served as the Secretary of the Board of Trustees since 2018.

 

A resident of Marble Falls for over 25 years, Gary and his wife, Michele, have been married for more than 15 years and are proud parents of three children—Anneliese, a Marble Falls High School alumna, and Garrett and Greyson, both current students at MFISD.

 

Gary is a 2000 graduate of Marble Falls High School and has devoted over 24 years to public service in law enforcement. He currently serves as the Chief of Police for the City of Lago Vista. Throughout his career, he has been actively involved in training and education, serving as an instructor for critical law enforcement programs, including the statewide Sexual Assault Family Violence Investigations Course, the Advanced Law Enforcement Rapid Response Training Course, and the Civilian Response to Active Attack Course.

 

In addition to his leadership in law enforcement, Gary is a dedicated member of the Texas Police Chiefs Association, where he serves on the Legislative Committee, and the International Association of Chiefs of Police, where he was appointed to the Community Policing Committee by the association’s president. His passion for law enforcement extends beyond his professional duties, as he finds great fulfillment in mentoring and building positive relationships with youth in the community.

 

Gary holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice Administration with a Concentration in Management (2013) and a Master’s Degree in Public Administration (2015), both from the University of Phoenix. In 2024, he earned a Postgraduate Certificate in Strategic Leadership from Liberty University and is currently pursuing a Doctorate in Strategic Leadership from Liberty University.

 

Beyond his professional commitments, Gary and his family are actively involved in the community, supporting youth sports, middle and high school booster clubs, and various volunteer initiatives. He and Michele also own a functional fitness center in Marble Falls, dedicated to promoting healthy lifestyles for families.
