Special Education Parent Advisory Council (SEPAC)

PURPOSE

The purpose of the MFISD SEPAC is to establish and maintain a collaborative partnership between the district and parents of students receiving special education services. The committee meets once a month for one hour and assists the district in making decisions with regard to communication, resources, education, and family engagement.

If you would like additional information or are interested in serving on the SEPAC please contact Linda Tellez at 830.798.3516.

MEMBERSHIP

Principals appointed two representatives to serve on the district-wide committee. Smaller campuses have one representative. This year, social media pages will be created to increase the communication and engagement of the families of students in special education for MFISD. The twelve-member group includes parents from a variety of backgrounds with students having various disabilities and instructional settings. Members of the Special Education Parent Advisory Council (SEPAC) will represent each campus in the school district, not just their child. Please contact the Special Education office if you have any further questions.
