INTRODUCTION TO THE 7 STEPS

In this session, teachers will have the opportunity to internalize and practice the 7 Steps to a Language-Rich, Interactive Classroom. Imagine crafting an exceptional learning environment. Well, we've done just that with 7 Steps! 7 Steps to Building a Language-Rich Interactive Classroom offers a comprehensive seven-step approach to establishing a dynamic, language-rich interactive classroom where every student can flourish. Topics covered include personalized instruction for diverse language proficiencies, ensuring full student engagement, and developing effective learning aids. 



 

SHELTERED INSTRUCTION

This interactive workshop includes activities that can be applied immediately to daily instruction. Sheltered instruction is a method that promotes the academic achievement of emergent bilingual students by incorporating English language instruction across all academic subjects, make content comprehensible, and language development. Sheltered instruction is beneficial for all students. Through integrating language support and scaffolding techniques into classroom instruction, sheltered instruction empowers students to achieve academic success. 



 

TEXES 154 ENGLISH AS A SECOND LANGUAGE SUPPLEMENTAL

Exam preparation session. This training session is designed to provide strategies and supports to effectively serve emergent bilingual students in ESL programs and to prepare for the ESL Supplemental #154 exam. During the session, teachers will have the opportunity to review the exam content as well as practice on sample questions for each domain. Additional resources will be provided so that participants can review and practice independently. Participants will need to bring a laptop to the session as most resources provided are digital. 



 

TEXES 164 BILINGUAL EDUCATION SUPPLEMENTAL

Bilingual education supplemental preparation session. The TExES Bilingual Education Supplemental Test (164) This course is designed to ensure teachers have the required knowledge and skills to teach emergent bilingual students in Texas public schools. Participants will engage in content immersion and practice with sample questions across each domain of the exam. Additional resources will be provided. It is recommended that participants bring a laptop to access the digital resources during the session. 



 

TEXES 190 BILINGUAL TARGET PROFICIENCY TEST (BTLPT) SPANISH

BTLPT preparation sessions. These courses are structured to equip educators for the TExES #190 BTLPT through interactive live sessions focused on four domains: Listening Comprehension, Oral Expression, Reading Comprehension, Written Expression. These sessions will include a deep dive into the exam's rubrics and expectations. Participants will participate in pragmatic activities on each domain to meet the rubric requirements. The sessions are divided by language domain and participants will receive resources to enhance their Spanish and successfully pass this exam.
