Marble Falls ISD Bids Fond Farewell to Esteemed Retiring Staff

 

Marble Falls Independent School District (MFISD) announces the retirement of several dedicated and esteemed staff members who concluded their meaningful careers at the end of the 2023-2024 school year. The district extends its gratitude to these individuals for their years of service, commitment, and contribution to the education and development of students.

 

Spicewood Elementary:

  • Jodee Fruge: With a remarkable 23-year career in education, Ms. Fruge has spent the last 9 years as a beloved teacher at Spicewood Elementary, shaping young minds and fostering a love of learning.

Marble Falls Elementary:

  • Marcia McMillan: Ms. McMillan has devoted 9 years to education, including the past 3 years at Marble Falls Elementary, where her creative impact has been greatly felt by students and colleagues.
  • Lisa Walker: A devoted educator for 34 years, Ms. Walker has served 24 of those years at Marble Falls Elementary, leaving a lasting legacy of love and inspiration.
  • Jill Watson: With 24 years in education, Ms. Watson has spent the last 18 years at Marble Falls Elementary, passionately educating and encouraging her students and peers.

Marble Falls Middle School:

  • Gaynelle Mandel: Ms. Mandel has dedicated all 26 years of her educational career to Marble Falls ISD, motivating middle and high school students with her unwavering commitment and love for teaching.
  • Kristen Obermeyer: With 25 years in education, all at Marble Falls ISD, Ms. Obermeyer has been a cornerstone of the middle school community, enriching the lives of countless students.
  • Barbara Ripley: Ms. Ripley retires after a distinguished 31-year career in education, including 22 years of service at Marble Falls Middle School, where her contributions have been invaluable.
  • Debra Weis: Ms. Weis brings her 32-year career to a close, having dedicated 14 years to Marble Falls Middle School, where her passion for teaching has left a profound impact. 

Marble Falls High School:

  • Rumaldo Martin: Mr. Martin has been an integral part of Marble Falls High School for 9 of his 35 years in education, serving as the Spanish teacher and enriching the personal growth and language skills of his students.
  • Chris Schrader: Coach Schrader, with 54 years of coaching and 6 years at Marble Falls High School, leaves behind a legacy of athletic excellence and mentorship in cross country and track.

Marble Falls ISD Transportation:

  • David Hale: With 22 years in the transportation department, all with Marble Falls ISD, Mr. Hale has been a vital part of ensuring student safety and efficient transportation.
  • Gene Schilling: Mr. Schilling retires after 5 years of dedicated service in the transportation department, all spent with Marble Falls ISD.

Marble Falls ISD Curriculum and Instruction Department:

  • Erika O'Connor: Ms. O'Connor retires after 30 years in education, with 26 years devoted to Marble Falls ISD, most recently serving as the Director of Elementary Curriculum, where her leadership has significantly influenced the district’s educational standards.

 

“We are deeply grateful for the incredible service and dedication of these outstanding individuals,” said Assistant Superintendent of Administration Stan Whittle. “Their immeasurable contributions have made a lasting impact on our district and the lives of multiple generations of students. They will be greatly missed, and we wish them all the best in their well-deserved retirements.”
