Teachers and peers praised Sky for her kindness, resilience, and leadership, while Derian was honored for his integrity, work ethic, and commitment to helping others.

Going the Extra Mile (GEM) Award – Coach Lauren Myers
Coach Lauren Myers was honored with the Going the Extra Mile Award for her extraordinary contributions to Colt Elementary. Known for her enthusiasm and dedication, she enhances school culture through innovative programs like Class Captains, Slime Day, and the Playground Behavior Plan. Colleagues and students described her as inspiring, thoughtful, and deeply committed to student success.

Spotlight on Excellence – James Conner
Agriculture teacher and FFA advisor James Conner was recognized with the Spotlight on Excellence Award for his unwavering dedication to students and the district. Beyond teaching, Conner provides exceptional support to FFA students by securing affordable feed, transporting supplies on weekends, and ensuring every student has the resources to succeed. His commitment extends beyond the classroom, earning admiration from parents and colleagues.

Spotlight on Engagement – Nancy Estrada
The Spotlight on Engagement Award was presented to Nancy Estrada, a fifth-grade teacher at Highland Lakes Elementary, for her dynamic and engaging classroom environment. Ms. Estrada’s bilingual instruction and innovative teaching methods have led to exceptional student growth, placing her class among the top three in the district. Her commitment to student success is evident in her work beyond the classroom, mentoring new teachers and leading before- and after-school programs.

MFHS Choir Recognized for TMEA Invitation and All-State Selections
The Board celebrated the Marble Falls High School Chorale for earning an invitation to perform at the prestigious Texas Music Educators Association (TMEA) 2025 Conference. This marks a significant achievement for the program.

Six choir members were also selected for the All-State choir. Each fall, over 70,000 Texas high school students begin the All-State audition process, with only 1,810 ultimately selected to rehearse and perform during the annual Texas Music Educators Association (TMEA) Clinic/Convention. Please congratulate Ella Bray, Jade Maynard, Hunter Holder, Hudson Brantley, Jaylee Sagebiel, and Ines Ruiz for selection to the 2025 All-State Choir. Director Bryce Gage and his students are commended for their dedication and musical excellence.

The Board of Trustees expressed deep appreciation for the dedication and contributions of all presented honorees, reaffirming the district’s commitment to excellence in education and student achievement.
