Marble Falls ISD Celebrates September Spotlight Award Winners
Marble Falls ISD is committed to fostering excellence, engagement, and growth for students and staff. Through the Spotlight on Excellence and Engagement awards, the District honors individuals who exemplify its core values of engagement, dedication, creativity, and inspiration.

In September, MFISD recognized two exceptional educators. Superintendent Dr. Jeff Gasaway and Assistant Superintendent Yarda Leflet presented the awards to Kendall Moss and Kaitlyn Goertz for their outstanding contributions.

Spotlight on Excellence: Kendall Moss, MFHS Spanish Teacher
Kendall Moss, a first-year Spanish teacher at Marble Falls High School, received the Spotlight on Excellence Award. Despite being new to teaching, Moss has made a notable impact on his students and colleagues. Fellow teacher Pam Pond praised his dedication, sharing how he tutored students at the MFISD Disciplinary Alternative Education Program campus with enthusiasm and care. MFHS Principal Patrick Hinson highlighted Moss’s initiative in organizing guest speakers and building strong relationships with students. Moss, a retired U.S. Foreign Service member, expressed his passion for giving back to public schools.

Spotlight on Engagement: Kaitlyn Goertz, MFHS Algebra Teacher
Kaitlyn Goertz, an Algebra 1 teacher at MFHS, was honored with the Spotlight on Engagement Award for her dynamic and creative classroom approach. Known for innovative lessons like "McAlgebra," where she dressed up to make algebra relatable, Goertz consistently engages students through collaboration and movement. Assistant Superintendent Yarda Leflet praised Goertz’s efforts, noting how her students have embraced new challenges and excelled academically.
