Marble Falls ISD Announces Key Coaching Positions

Marisa Miller will be joining Marble Falls ISD as the Head Girls Soccer Coach. She has a strong background in working with large programs at Katy Tompkins and Fulshear High School and brings years of coaching and playing knowledge to our girls soccer program. “I am excited about moving to Marble Falls and starting this new chapter. This will be an adventure on and off the field,” said Coach Miller.

Brenda Gonzales will return to Marble Falls ISD Athletics after some time away as the Head Cross Country Coach and Head Girls Track Coach. Coach Gonzales has been in education for 10 years and coaching for 12 years.  With a Bachelors of Science in Kinesiology from the University of Texas-Pan American and a masters degree in Applied Sport Psychology from Adams State University, Coach Gonzales is also a USATF Level 2 Certified coach as well as an official.  Originally from Roma, Texas in the Rio Grande Valley, Coach Gonzales relocated to Marble Falls in 2015 and fell in love with the Hill Country area.  She has family in Marble Falls including three nieces and four nephews; one nephew, Derek Gonzalez, will be a senior at Marble Falls High School.

Athletic Director Keri Timmerman commented, “With experience coaching and officiating at the high school and collegiate level, Coach Gonzales will give our cross-country program stability and brings strength to our girls track program.”

Christopher Pace, originally from Orange, Massachusetts, will bring energy  and expertise to the Marble Falls volleyball program as the Head Volleyball Coach. Coach Pace has six years of experience coaching. He spent three years with the University of Maine at Presque Isle as an assistant volleyball coach to Jonathon Bowman, and most recently was a coach at Medina ISD. In Medina ISD, Coach Pace served as the head volleyball coach, head cross country coach, head softball coach, as well as assisting the baseball, football, and basketball programs

Coach Pace remarked, “I’m really excited for the opportunity to head the Marble Falls volleyball program. I’m excited to meet this group of athletes and get to know them. I think we’re going to have a lot of fun and see some success.”

Ryan Craven will now be the Head Boys Soccer Coach and will continue as Defensive Coordinator for the football program. He has been coaching for 12 years across central and north Texas with a successful track record that includes numerous district titles and playoff victories at East View, North Forney, and Stephenville. Additionally, Coach Craven competed at the highest level, participating in national championships in club soccer and major tournaments across the country and Europe. Throughout his career, he has focused on developing strong, competitive teams and fostering a winning mindset among players.

Coach Craven’s wife, Amanda, is also dedicated to education and works as a teacher at Marble Falls High School. They have an almost two-year-old son named Brooks and are eagerly anticipating the arrival of their second son this August.

“I am excited to build on the culture and tradition that Coach Hoover instilled throughout the last decade,” Coach Craven shared. “I look forward to taking the next step and leading this program. Marble Falls Soccer will not be satisfied with just a playoff win; we expect to compete at the highest level and aim for nothing less than excellence.”
