Nutrition Staffs get Five-Star Training
MFISD's Child Nutrition Department will recieve training from a National Speaker

The Child Nutrition Departments from Marble Falls, Burnet, Llano, and Fredericksburg are joining forces to bring in the number one rated nutritional speaker, Maureen G. Mulvaney, better known as MGM, to train, motivate and excite the districts’ cafeteria and nutrition staffs to provide five-star meal services to their students.  The MGM training will kick off at 8:30 a.m., Wednesday, August 17th, at the Lakeside Pavilion on Lake Marble Falls.

“I believe this training will lift up our staff, known as the lunch or cafeteria ladies, and remind them how important school breakfast & lunch is to each student’s health, welfare & learning potential,” said Mary Davidson, Director of Child Nutrition for MFISD.  “This will reemphasize their commitment to cooking healthy, nutritious meals. It will assure them of their importance in the life of these children.  Our lunch ladies, truly put a lot of love into every meal they cook, prepare & serve!”

Mulvaney, an Amazon best-selling author, will share what she believes is the biggest challenge to achieving improved nutrition for students:  Not enough students are eating the delicious and nutritionally sound meals offered at their child’s school.  MGM is passionate about parents also learning the facts instead of relying on outdated stereo-types of Child Nutrition Services.  The Huffington Post Parents page reported:  School Breakfast Changes Lives!

Kids Who Eat School Breakfast:

  • Miss Less School (attending on average 1.5 more days per year)
  • Do Better in Math (averaging 17.5% higher math test scores)
  • Are 20% more likely to Graduate High School

The benefits of eating School Breakfast and Lunch continue into adulthood because High School Grads earn $10,000 more annually and are less likely to experience Hunger as Adults.

“This is NOT Your Momma’s School Lunch,” exclaimed MGM, Maureen G. Mulvaney. “Marble Falls ISD Child Nutrition is committed to serving their Customers, Your Children, Five-Star School Meals consisting of Fruits, Vegetables, Whole Grains, Protein and Milk.  They are also committed to providing Five-Star Customer Service for the school year 2016-2017.”
