Marble Falls ISD is celebrating its student and professional Athletic Trainers during National Athletic Training Month in March.

“The National theme for Athletic Training Month is A Safer Approach to Work, Life and Sport,” said MFHS head Athletic Trainer Sarah Mengers.  “Athletic Trainers are health care professionals who collaborate with physicians and specialize in the prevention, emergency care, diagnosis, treatment, and rehabilitation of injuries and sport-related illnesses.”

The Athletic Trainers for Marble Falls are on site at school related games and events to help participants avoid injuries.  Athletic Trainers help all participants avoid injuries-- from players to cheerleaders, to band members and dance team members.  Student Athletic Trainers and the Professional Athletic Trainers supervising them also provide immediate care and help participants recover from their injuries.

“Our Athletic Trainers and Student Athletic Trainers are a huge asset to the entire program,” said Athletic Director and Head Football Coach Matt Green.  “They provide so many services to all of the athletes in MFISD that range from preventive medicine to post injury treatments. Our Athletic Training staff keeps athletes safe and our coaching staff is so proud and blessed to have them in Mustang Athletics.”
