The Public Workers’ Compensation Program (PWCP) Board of Directors approved an Excess Contribution Refund for Marble Falls ISD of $38,513.12.  The refund is a result of the District’s successful risk management programs designed to protect staff, students and other patrons, while caring for those that might become injured on the job.  The refund marks the ninth year in a row in which Marble Falls ISD has received excess funds from the Program.  To date, PWCP has given back $10.8 million toward helping districts provide quality and successful educational opportunities.

“In a team effort with Edwards Risk Management, MFISD’s proactive safety and wellness programs have resulted in a Workers’ Compensation refund for the District,” said Wade Stanford, Assistant Superintendent of Administrative Services.  “We appreciate the efforts of our maintenance, food service, transportation, and campus staffs, who continue to work to maintain a healthy and safe environment for all Marble Falls ISD employees.”

Marble Falls ISD, in cooperation with PWCP and Edwards Risk Management, continues to invest resources that help injured workers get needed medical attention.  The resources also provide for the prevention of claims through loss control training, online education and personal protective equipment.  The partnership between Marble Falls ISD and PWCP members has proven successful by keeping employees and dollars in the classrooms, while providing long term cost containment and rate stability.

PWCP loss prevention resources provided to MFISD employees include onsite training, an online safety video library, “Zero Hour” safety briefings, slip resistant shoes and boots for all auxiliary employees, safety incentive awards, and a Wellness Program designed to promote and encourage all District employees and their families in healthy behaviors.  In addition, essential dollars have been designated annually to help protect staff, students, and community members by providing funds for emergency management consultation, safety and security audits, and StayALERT, an anonymous student safety hotline.

PWCP is managed and administered by Edwards Risk Management Inc. in Marble Falls, Texas.  For more information, visit www.edwardsrisk.com.
