are a significant number of ways that parents, community members and
businesses can also be involved in the education process. The District
Educational Improvement Committee (DEIC) is a site-based committee
composed of teachers, administrators, parents, community and business
members. This committee helps plan the District calendar, staff
development, and creates the District Improvement Plan, which guides the
district in achieving the goals set by the Board of Trustees. At each
campus there is a Campus Education Improvement Committee (CEIC) that
meets monthly to assist the principal and staff in budget, staff
development and procedural issues. To learn more about potential
membership in the DEIC or to just receive more information, please
contact the Assistant Superintendent for Academics at (830) 693-4357. To
become involved in the campus level committees (CEIC), please contact
the Principal of the particular campus in which you are interested.
