After nine years of Mighty Mustang Band performance wear and tear, it was time to update the band’s look to match its competitive style. Band Director Brad Behrens, and Assistant Director, Brandon Sinde, are excited to debut the new designs for the Mustang March Band and formal Concert Band contest uniforms.
The new marching uniforms are cool-- literally. They are lighter and designed to help students deal with the Texas heat so band performers can keep their cool during their high intensity football season performances. The cool factor continues with a unique design that allows band members to make changes to the front plaque to fit each show’s design.
“The new concert uniforms also enhance our show appearance,” said Sinde. “The UIL judges commented about the band looking very good in their concert uniforms. Each concert band student is decked out in a black formal tuxedo or formal dress. When our students look and feel good during competitions, it boosts their ability to produce top performances.”
The Band Directors worked with Stanbury uniforms to create a custom design for the Mustang Band uniforms. Behrens is quick to point out that beyond the design, several groups of people worked together to provide the support and funding to make the updated uniforms possible for the MFHS Band.
“We want to thank the MFISD School Board, the Central Office staff, our Band Boosters, and our community for making these uniforms possible,” said Behrens.
