The Marble Falls High School Symphony and Concert Bands competed in the University Interscholastic League (UIL) contest at Boerne Champion High School in Boerne, Texas, Monday, April 10th. The MFHS Symphony Band earned a 1st division rating on the contest stage and the Concert Band earned a 1st division in the sight reading room.
“We are so proud of our students,” exclaimed MFHS Band Director, Brad Behrens noting his bands received one of the highest compliments desired by musicians from this year’s UIL judges. “The judges’ comments included ‘Bravo’, ‘great band’, and ‘great sound”. The band members worked really hard and were well prepared.”
Assistant Band Director, Brandon Sinde noted growth in both of MFHS’ concert season ensembles during the 2016 – 2017 school year. You can experience the 1st division level play during the Band’s Spring concert, May 16th in the MFHS Auditorium, at the State Solo and Ensemble competition, May 27th, and at the National Memorial Day Parade in Washington D.C, May 29th.
