Marble Falls Theatre Director, Jon Clark, and Technical Theatre Director, Darrin Wade, learned Wednesday that nine of their students earned State qualifying spots in this year’s University Interscholastic League Tech Design Division 2 contest for 5-A and 6-A schools. The students will represent Marble Falls Theatre in the State Technical Design Meet in Round Rock ISD on April 15th.
Marble Falls tied one other school for the second most qualifiers in the State. The maximum amount of entries each school is allowed to submit is 12. This year, MFHS sent 11 entries to competition, with nine ranked as exemplary.

“What’s remarkable about this group of Varsity technicians is that they have embraced a noncompetitive attitude during a very competitive contest,” said Clark. “Throughout this process our entrants that have competed and made it to State have been teaching and helping the rookies. Without that student guidance, we would not have had so many qualifiers this year. For these kids, it’s not about being the best in our troupe, it’s about making our troupe the best!”
