Students at Falls Career High School are asking you to join them in their Holiday public service project by giving the Gift of Life! The Falls Holiday Blood Drive is Friday, December 2nd, from 9 a.m. – 2 p.m. in the parking lot across from the Marble Falls ISD Central Administration Building, 1800 Colt Circle, Marble Falls, one block behind Super Taco.
“We know that the holidays are a busy times for folks,” said Falls Teacher, Mike Saenz. “So we want everyone to know that the whole donation process only takes about 30 minutes. We are sure that our students and community members will be able to find that time to give the gift of life.”
It’s easy to donate. Either schedule an appointment with Mike Saenz at Falls (email@example.com) or simply drop by and look for the Blood Center of Central Texas Bloodmobile next to Central Administration. Be sure you bring an ID and eat a full meal before you donate. Donors must be at least 17 years old and weigh at least 115 lbs.
According to the Blood Center of Central Texas, one blood donation can save many lives. Donations are used to replace red blood cells, provide frozen plasma, platelets concentrates, cryoprecipitates, and plasma. Due to the strong response of the Marble Falls community, Falls added a third Blood Drive to their calendar to help meet the need for Holiday donations. Participants in the Holiday Blood Drive receive a free t-shirt and munchies following their donation.
"Our blood drives are instructional in that they are opportunities for students to see how much of a difference they can make in their community with little effort,” explains Falls Principal, Peggy Little. “Our students also see how supportive their community can be when a good cause is on the table."
