During a called Special Board Meeting Thursday, July 7th, the Westwood ISD Board of Trustees named Wade Stanford, Marble Falls ISD’s current Assistant Superintendent of Administrative Operations, as the lone finalist to serve as their next Superintendent. Stanford will transition to his new position this summer (State law requires a 21-day waiting period after the finalist is chosen before officially appointing a superintendent and executing a contract). His wife, Marla, the Attendance Coordinator at Marble Falls Middle School, will join Stanford when he makes the move to the Palestine area.
Westwood ISD is located in Palestine, TX and includes 4 schools that serve 1,700 students in grades PK through 12.
“It has truly been an honor to be a part of Marble Falls ISD,” said Stanford. “It has been my privilege to work alongside the outstanding teachers, staff, and school board as we have worked to make a difference in the lives of students. Marla and I have great memories and relationships from our four years in Marble Falls. We are excited about the next chapter in our lives as we follow the path God has laid out for us in Westwood ISD.”
Stanford joined MFISD in 2012 as the Executive Director of Business Operations. He has since served in the District as the Assistant Superintendent of Administrative Operations.
“During the four years he has served the Marble Falls ISD community, Mr. Stanford has been the guiding force of virtually every initiative,” said MFISD Superintendent, Dr. Chris Allen. “From leading discussions regarding instructional technology implementation to facilitating processes used to select District and campus leaders, Mr. Stanford leaves a positive and lasting imprint on Marble Falls.”
