Marble Falls ISD Employees were invited to “Exercise to Kick Start Your Heart” between February 1st and March 4th during the District’s Spring Health Challenge. During each of the 5 weeks of the competition 247 staff competitors focused on a different challenge to “keep moving” to stay healthy.
The District’s wellness activities, set up to increase employee health and reduce accidents, are part of MFISD’s risk management program in partnership with Edwards Risk Management.
“Twice each school year, our Wellness Coordinator, Dotti De la hoya, and the HR team look for ways to make it fun for our staff to stay safe and healthy,” said MFISD Director of Human Resources, Vicki Crouse. “The Health Challenges allow our campuses and support staffs to have some good-natured competition to see who will get the bragging rights and a Health Challenge Champion banner. All participants in the challenge win prizes through Edwards Risk Management. This time they received a free Sailor Bag just for playing!”
Crouse is quick to point out that District employees benefit when they train for safe operations, use recommended safe practices, and participate in wellness activities that keep them healthy. Those practices also keep costs low and the savings are refunded back to the District to be used to support student instruction.
The winning Departments in the Spring Challenge are:
