The Marble Falls ISD Board of Trustees approved Dr. Wesley Cunningham as Assistant Superintendent of Curriculum and Instruction Services Monday evening during their regular meeting. Dr. Cunningham replaces Eric Penrod, who moved into the Superintendent position in Gatesville ISD. Leslie Baty, who served as the Principal of Spicewood Elementary last year and as the Interim Assistant Superintendent of Curriculum this summer, will resume her new duties as Director of Elementary Education.
Cunningham most recently served Frisco ISD as Area Director for Secondary Instruction, where he supervised Middle and High School Principals in the fast growth district of over 50,000 students. His educational background includes an Ed.D. and M.Ed. in Educational Administration from Texas A&M-Commerce. He earned his B.A. in History from Southern Methodist University.
“I am extraordinarily excited, honored, and privileged to have the opportunity to work with some of the finest students, teachers, and administrators in the state of Texas, here in Marble Falls ISD,” said Cunningham. “The motto of Marble Falls ISD - Learners Today, Leaders Tomorrow, Mustangs Forever - exemplifies the mission and purpose that I have shared in my 23 years in education. Together, we will provide opportunities to meet the needs and goals of each of our students.”
The Cunningham family is looking forward to making their home in Marble Falls. Cunningham will be joined in the community for the start of this school year by his wife of almost 20 years, Michelle, and his two girls, Ashlyn (a sophomore) and Jordyn (3rd Grade).
