Leadership Conference Focuses on Student Learning
Marble Falls ISD Administrative Leaders and Instructional Coaches gathered for a Conference

New Marble Falls ISD Superintendent, Dr. Chris Allen, gathered Marble Falls ISD Administrative Leaders and Instructional Coaches in the District’s Curriculum Development Center July 30th – August 3rd to introduce his vision of servant leadership for MFISD.  Allen communicated the importance of putting kids first, offering equity in learning for every child each and every day regardless of need, inspiring teachers, and keeping a true customer service mindset in mind while leading with love, compassion and heart.

“The District uses our leadership conference to provide student focused training for our key leaders,” said Allen.  “We also use this time to discuss the District’s visions and align our priorities to fulfill these visions in such a way that we offer an excellent educational experience to our students, families, and the broader community.”

Allen introduced MFISD leaders to conference speakers, Ken Williams and Alan November, with a challenge to use the information from those sessions to inspire and engage student learning.

Author and educational presenter, Ken Williams, brought a message designed to give educators strategies to generate highly motivated interdependent teams.

“Great Coaches and educational leaders put players on the field that produce a result bigger than what their individual talents can produce,” said Williams.  “We need to accomplish the same thing for our kids.  Our goal is to engage the heart, the head, and the hands in the pursuit of the right work.  That right work is providing excellence in learning and performance for our students.”

Alan November, an international leader in education technology, introduced free learning tools teachers and students can use to enhance and reinforce their in-class learning.

“Marble Falls ISD’s Spark Initiative is a wonderful example of how teachers can use technology tools to enhance learning activities and empower student learning,” said November.  “The technology access your community is providing to your students is literally giving your kids learning access to the world!”
